PISSING RAZORS is an American groove-based heavy metal band formed in 1994 in El Paso, Texas by founding member and tenured drummer Eddy Garcia with guitarist Mat Lynch. The sole purpose was to incite a musical tone loud and aggressive in ferocity and heavy in punk and metal elements. From the beginning, the purpose was to create music listeners could ‘groove’ to and connect with, that was over the top, both visually and sonically, including live performances ripe with actual fire, blood, and high volume. That goal remains so today. 

Along with inception era vocalist Joe Rodriguez and bassist Geo Gomez, PISSING RAZORS has long drudged the unpredictable ebb’s and flow’s of the underground punk/metal scene and are continually pushing their own musical boundaries. Following a series of early independent releases, this bled into their self-titled label release along with five more album releases. 

PISSING RAZORS IS 27 YEARS IN THE MAKING! They are wrapping up the recording for their 7thfull-length album, EULOGY DEATH MARCH, which will be released in the summer of 2021. Hopefully, with live music making a comeback this year, you’ll find PISSING RAZORS on the road. Stay tuned & SPREAD THE PLAGUE.

 Working on the latest material / recording for their newest album, they released the singles "Crushing Grip" and "Left For Dead" in 2019 returning the Razors to their early 'Psycho Punko Metal Groove' lineage.  Kicking off 2021 with an inferno of what's to come, a cover of Nailbomb's "Wasting Away," featuring Steev Esquivel from Skinlab, was released.  These three                 blistering singles will be on the forthcoming album, EULOGY DEATH          MARCH, which will be mixed and mastered by Sterling Winfield (Pantera) and released in the summer of 2021.  This album is crushing, relentless, & in your face.  Now, imagine hearing it live.  Get ready, it's coming!!

1994

Band is formed by Eddy Garcia on guitar and Mat Lynch on bass, with Dave McNutt on vocals, Danny Garcia on drums. 

Several local shows & small regional shows are played throughout Texas.

1995 

Joe Rodriguez replaces McNutt on vocals. 

Work begins on self-released cd, “Psycho Punko Metal Groove” and is limited to a 500-cd release.

1996 

“Psycho Metal Groove” is released. 

Tour extensively, self-funded. Play with well-known artists such as Pro-Pain, Exodus, Skinlab, Stuck Mojo, & Snot. 

Rick Valles replaces D. Garcia. Lynch switches to guitar. E. Garcia switches to drums. 

1997 

Band continues to tour & sell merchandise, all self-funded. 

Meet with CEO from FAD/Noise Records & sign. Work with famous producer Andy Sneap to record self-titled cd at Sonic Ranch.

1998 

Record is released in January in Europe, in February in US. European tour starts playing across England, Germany, France, and Russia. Band tours 10 straight months.

Meet & play with System of a Down, Fear Factory, Static X, Tura Satana, & Substance D.

Music being written for next album.

1999 

Recording next album “Cast Down the Plague” in Celle, Germany & is later released.

More touring, now with Six Feet Under.

Lynch leaves band & is replaced by guitar tech Cesar Soto (who now plays with Ministry).

Meet & become good friends with Pantera/Vinnie & Dime, Overkill/Bobby, SOD/Billy Milano, & Sevendust.

Begin writing material for third album.

Record Pantera song “Domination,” for tribute record, at Big Blue Meanie Studio.

Play festivals such as the “November to Dismember” & the “First Annual Texas Metal Fest,” both in San Antonio, as well as the “Milwaukee Metalfest.”

2000 

Back to Sonic Ranch to record third album, “Fields of Disbelief.”

Rodriguez leaves band & is replaced by Dewey Bragg.

2001 

Fourth album “Where We Come From” is recorded at Razor Headquarters.

2001-2003 

Touring continues with Cannibal Corpse, WASP. 

Bragg leaves the band & is replaced by Andre Acosta. 

Rodriguez briefly returns with band to play hometown show with Hatebreed.

2004 

Pissing Razors go on hiatus.

Garcia & Valles become touring musicians for Ministry.

2014 

Talks of a reunion transpire. December 14 finds the band officially reunited.

2015 

Geo Gomez replaces Valles on bass. Reunion show takes place in July.

2016 

Tour with Vision of Disorder.

2018 

Tour with Skinlab & Shattered Sun.

2019 

Band plays in San Antonio & El Paso in February to announce single release for “Crushing Grip.”

Five-date Australian tour with Skinlab is announced in April.

Band awaits single & video release for second single, “Left for Dead.”

Announced in July, due to problems with promoter and AIW Records, tour is cancelled.

Halloween release date for song and video for “Left For Dead,” which is available across all digital platforms.

November announcement that 7th full length album, “Eulogy Death March” will be released, summer 2020.

2020

Band relocates headquarters (practice place / recording studio) and begins work on “Eulogy Death March”

“Psycho Punko Metal Groove” is reissued as remixed, remastered, & now containing four bonus, never-before released tracks, making it a 20-song limited edition CD release.

Covid-19 hits and disrupts schedule. Band pursues throughout the year to continue work on the new album. 

Despite the lack of live shows, the group does very well with continual merch sales & keeping active in Razor Nation’s eyes.

2021

The year kicks off with a cover of Nailbomb’s “Wasting Away,” features Steev Esquivel from Skinlab, & is available on all digital outlets.

The end of March will find the recording finished. The album will be mixed & mastered by Sterling Winfield (Pantera), produced by Eddy Garcia, & is slated for a summer release.

Depending on the ongoing pandemic & the status of live music, the band hopes to tour & promote “Eulogy Death March.” 

A band is only as good as their crew.  And what a crew we have! Thanks to their hard work & dedication, this machine never stops.
